Charles Ryland was born and raised in Witham and is currently running his own property management business within the town. A father of three, when he
finally gets a spare minute, he can be foun
cycling around the country roads in our district and has a strong appreciation for the green spaces that surround our beautiful district. A
s such, the environment is a very particular on green pledges within our manifesto, in particular, investing to produce ambitious schemes for improved cycling and walking in inner urban areas andPreserve public green and open spaces by preventing the further overdevelopment of our district.
As mentioned, Charles has three young children and is extremely concerned with prospects for younger people which need addressing now in order to prevent generations of disillusioned younger people. Libraries most certainly could have a central role and there is an urgent need to immediately halt any future closures. Food banks, while a noble and well intentioned charitable aim, have now become a staple in many people lives should never have had to come into existence in the first place.
One way we can help as a fairer society is to identify and support families who need additional support to cut child poverty and hunger. Free school meals in term-time and holidaysshould also be a weapon to battle the need for food banks within our local community.
Finally, Charlie is a strong advocate our Lib Dem manifesto on Fairer Essex. In particular, we should be aiming to Support carers, especially children who are caring for parents while also looking at people well being both physically and mentally with access to regular exercise, employment opportunities.
