Our Parliamentary Candidates for the General Election in 2019 are:

Dom Graham

Dominic Graham - Braintree

Dominic Graham has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Braintree in the December 2019 General Election.

The litigation solicitor has worked in Braintree town centre for the last 5 years and has highlighted the urgent need to tackle the climate crisis as his main priority, should he be elected in December.

Mr Graham is also keen to see improved transport links in and around Braintree, with upgrades to the notorious A120 a key part of his vision.

Until last year, Mr Graham was a Colchester borough councillor and led on the decision to restructure waste and recycling collections, which has resulted in Colchester shooting up the recycling charts.

Mr Graham was chosen unanimously by Braintree and Witham Liberal Democrats to take on the current incumbent, James Cleverly.

Following on from his environmental work in Colchester, Mr Graham has pledged to make tackling climate change his main priority if he is elected as MP for Braintree.

Other priorities include:

· reversing cuts to legal aid and the Ministry of Justice,

· increasing funding for education, the NHS and social care

· improving transport links in and around Braintree, including roads, rail and cycle infrastructure.

Mr Graham said: "At the moment there is a climate crisis, a justice crisis, an education crisis, an NHS crisis and a social care crisis.

We can't keep doing the same things then wondering how we got here. We need big changes in this country and those changes can start with a Liberal Democrat MP in Braintree."

In relation to Brexit, Mr Graham, a long-standing Remain supporter, said:

"This election is a huge opportunity for voters in Braintree to send a message to Parliament. I know that many people in Braintree voted to leave the EU, however not many voted for the extreme form of Brexit that Boris Johnson seeks to impose on us.

This General Election will decide the future of our country for generations. The Liberal Democrats will be fighting to end this Brexit chaos.

The Liberal Democrats are the strongest party of Remain and I fully support the manifesto promise to stop Brexit.

Sam NorthSam North - Witham

Sam North has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Witham in the December 2019 General Election.

An ex-police Officer who found himself powerless to stand up to consecutive Conservative Home Secretaries as they told him that he was crying wolf, Sam has joined the fight for a safer, fairer and more progressive society.
Describing himself as an ambitious reformist, Sam has already made a substantial impact on society. He has worked in numerous industries including Property Development, Sewage, Security and Policing. Whilst working as a police officer he delivered change that impacted the way police forces work up and down the country and wishes to bring this skillset and knowledge of the real world into the political sphere.
Already elected as a District Councillor and having writen the Lib Dem policy on Crime and Policing, Sam has a vested interest in the Liberal Values that all of us aspire to.
"For too long the Conservatives have underfunded, divided and lied to us and our society, it is time that the people are given the voice they deserve and we can once more stand proud as a united Country in this ever more connected and global world that we live in. Voices must be heard and pragmatism must always be practiced. That is why I stand on a manifesto of forward thinking, achievable and pragmatic policies that truly will move the country forward."'
