Mark Jarman-Howe's priorities for Halstead

Mark Jarman-Howe
Mark Jarman-Howe, Candidate for Halstead Division in the County Council Elections, lays out his priorities:

I believe in the Liberal Democrat vision of an open, tolerant and united Britain. These local elections are a great opportunity to voice your concerns at the worrying direction this Conservative Government is taking our country and for you to be part of the Lib Dem Fightback.

I also want to be part of a progressive, centrist Liberal Democrat administration at County Hall ensuring Essex County Council is firmly in-touch with and effectively delivering on the priorities of local people.

If elected I make three promises to all those living in Halstead Division:

  1. I will put the interests of the local community ahead of those of property developers. We do need more housing in Essex, but we need more school places, better GP services and safer roads first.
  2. The state of the NHS and social care, and the threat to vital local services is worry for all of us who rely on them or someday may have need of them. I will champion getting the maximum investment in local social care and ensure joined up working between the local NHS and council services for the benefit of people not politics.
  3. I will do everything in my power to stand up for local business and jobs, and for the rights of EU citizens who've settled in and contribute to Halstead against the threat of a harmful, self-defeating hard Brexit.

It is not right that the Conservative Government and the Conservative administration in County Hall are not listening to us on these and other key issues. Make your voice heard on May 4th by voting Liberal Democrat.
