135 houses get planning permission, Patching Hall Lane north Chelmsford

Chelmsford Council has given planning permission for 135 houses in fields off Patching Hall Lane (see Committee Agenda). Local Lib Dem Councillors Stephen Robinson and Alan Arnot attended to speak up for local residents. Cllr. Robinson spoke out about a number of traffic concerns - in particular, the exit from Skerry Rise onto Broomfield Road and the Hollow Lane / Patching Hall Lane / School Lane junction.
Cllr Robinson also queried why money for community facilities is going to Broomfield Community Centre. He said, "It may be a worthy project in itself but it is people on the edge of Chelmsford who are most affected by this. The Woodhall area needs investment in the local community."
Cllr Robinson was backed up by Woodhall area residents. Lindsay Macdowell told the meeting that they were already concerned about traffic through their area and the lack of community facilities.
