In the final Parliamentary debate of 2011, Colchester MP Bob Russell spoke in support of 30,000 Bedouin Arabs who in the coming weeks face being uprooted from their traditional land in Israel and forced into townships.
He accused Israel of being in breach of international law and the UN Declaration of Rights for Indigenous People.
Earlier this year Liberal Democrat Mr Russell visited the occupied West Bank where he witnessed at first hand the policies of ethnic cleansing and apartheid against the Palestinian people, to which he referred during his speech in the House of Commons.
He told MPs that the Holy Land was now occupied by Israel, and because of the huge walls which Israel had erected it would mean that today Mary and Joseph would not be able to reach Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus, the shepherds would have been ethnically cleansed, and the three Wise Men would not have been allowed into the country.
Mr Russell then criticised the Christian world leaders for their failure to speak out against what Israel is doing in the Holy Land against the Palestinians and Bedouin Arabs.
